Dina and Deanna are looking forward to an exciting warm season. Thank you Robert Warner for the attached photo. Robert is a photographer who visited our farm and is preparing digital images of our horses. We invite any artists to come spend a day on the farm. No matter what medium you work in, you will surely be able to capture some beauty amidst our 200 acres of rolling fields and 30 rescued orphans. We hope to develop a collection of works and hold a benefit showing and sale. Thank you, Mr. Warner for supporting us in this endeavor.

Upcoming Events

Lucky Orphans is preparing a very busy spring and summer season. Join us at the 40th annual Hudson Valley Earth Day celebration at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, NY. We will have a booth and unlimited pony rides April 24 and 25. May 1, we will be at the Annual Walk-A-Thon and petfair for the SPCA at the FDR state park in Yorktown Heights. May 2 we will be giving pony rides at the May Fair at Dutchess Day School in Millbrook, NY. We will be marching with horses in the Millbrook Memorial Day Parade in Millbrook. We welcome volunteers to join us at these events. We look forward to seeing you out and about.

Very exciting day!Lucky Orphans got it's newest rescue, Sunny. After living at his house for 26 years, he was left alone in the herd from the passing of his mother and sister. After the sad death of his owner, we were contacted by the family and after two months of getting him used to the trailer, he arrived today safe and sound.

May Events!

Horse Show on May 30th
Join us on May 30th at the Tymor Equestrian Center in Lagrangeville, NY for a Schooling Horse Show.
Schooling begins at 07:30 AM and the show will begin promptly at 09:00 AM
Registration is $15, or $12 if you pre-register. To pre-registers please email aska@luckyorphanshorserescue.org.
There will be both English and Western classes.

Visit our Annex Facility

Starting May 12th our annex facility will be open to visitors. This facility has been made available to us by Rose Hill Farm in Wassaic, NY. To visit please call 646-258-2512.
As always, our main facility in Millbrook, NY will be open throughout the summer and open to visitors. Our hours at 9 AM-5PM. If you would like to visit our horses outside of that time please call to make an appointment. 845-416-8583

Saturday May 16th at Dutchess Day School

On May 16th from 11-4 Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue will be at the Dutchess Day School "May Fair." Pony rides will be available as well as some arts and crafts activities.

MARCH EVENTS!

March 21st at 7pm at the Dutchess Cornell Cooperative Extension: There will be a potluck dinner to celebrate the accomplishments of the Un-Whoa-Ables Horse 4H Youth Development kids.

March 27th at 7pm at the Dutchess Cornell Cooperative Extension: A seminar on Pasture Management and Poisonous Plants given by Jennifer Fimbell of DCCCE. Seminar will cover pasture rotation, how to conduct soil samples, proper pasture fertilization and other topics concerning how to prepare your fields and pasture for your horses this spring. Questions will be answered.

Un-Whoa-Ables Horse 4H Youth Development Program will be selling baked goods to raise funds and awareness for their club. The club does community service by helping care for rescued horses and will be setting up and cleaning up for this event.

Suggested Donation of $10 would be very much appreciated for this event. All proceeds to benefit the horses of Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue.
